PDP Accuses APC Of Vote Buying In Ondo State

The All Progressives Congress congress in Ondo state has been accused of allegedly disrupting the Governorship and the House of Assembly elections in the state.

The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party accused APC of engaging in vote buying.

The Chairman of PDP, Clement Faboyede, raised this allegation while speaking with newsmen at his Unit 5 and 6 at Igbara-Oke, in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.

He described the development across the state as disheartening.

Faboyede also accused the state’s Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi of enforcing thugs to snatch ballot papers and boxes at Ese-Odo area.

“I have reports across the state that APC are going about with thugs snatching ballot box and papers.”

“It even happened here in my unit, it took the combined efforts of the security agencies to chase them away.”

“I was told that the Deputy Governor was moving around with thugs snatching boxes in Ese Odo just to take majority in the House of Assembly,” he said.

The Senator-Elect, Ondo Central, Ayo Akinyelure, stated that the party has lost its relevance in the state and is only showing an act of desperation.

Akinyelure claimed that party thugs disrupted voting process in PDP zones.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gbenga Ale, while reacting to the allegation at his unit in Owo, stated that the electoral process as been peaceful, going by reports received from various parts of the state.

He further stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has improved from previous elections.

He, however, denied allegations of vote buying in his polling unit.
