Mr Melaye is looking for re-appointment in Kogi on the stage of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He is as of now facing 2 separate legal proceeding by the police for supposed endeavored suicide & purportedly equiping hoodlums. He was allowed bail by the court in the 2 cases.
