Tutors under the aegis of Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in Oyo State have embarked on indefinite strike over delay in payment of salaries of primary school teachers and their promotion.
This is coming after the union had earlier issued 72-hour ultimatum to the Government to clear and settle the backlogs of salaries owed its members.
The union accused the state government of failure to meet their demand.
According to a statement signed by the state NUT Chairman, Z.T Adedoyin, the strike is indefinite.
The union also listed issues worrying the members of the union as non-implementation of the approval and accompany promotion benefits to the primary school teachers by the Oyo State Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC).
