An appointment placed before an Imo State medical practitioner, Dr. Harold Onumo by the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has been rejected.
The outgoing Governor had earlier appointed and inaugurated Onumo (in absentia) as Board Chairman, Imo State Agency for Control of HIV/AIDS, (SACA).
Dr. Onumo while speaking in Owerri on Tuesday stated that there was no ground for him to accept the appointment.
He stated that this is due to the Governor’s impoverishing the people of the state through his government’s harsh policies and programmes.
He also pointed out that he refused the appointment due to alleged unfair treatment of medical practitioners in Imo State owned health institutions.
“Okorocha’s government is a failed government and since inception eight years ago, it has openly shown disdain for due process and I do not think I will want to associate myself with such a government at any level whatsoever.”
