Everyone chooses their narrative. The same debt grew from N12tn to N22tn, if you adjust for the rise, thats $33bn in additional debt but the USD equivalent was chosen for two periods with different exchange rates.

It’s like I borrowed N2000 from you at N200/$, that’s $10.

If I borrow another N2000, with exchange rate now at N400/$, I would have borrowed N4000 but still owe you equivalent of $10.

I have borrowed extra N2,000 but I am still owing equivalent of $10.

It sounds confusing? We are in a season of confusion.

The rates at N196/$ in 2015 & N305/$ in 2018 are different but that’s the small print.

Who cares in a political season? In the future, we devalue the currency again and we claim that we have borrowed nothing.

Nigeria! No one wants the harsh truth for corrective purposes and introspection.

Everyone carries a large trumpet, finding what validates them.

You can be changing stats like N25bn is total budget for Power, Works and Housing before you or that 7,000Mw is now generation when you know our steady output is less than 4,000MW and our installed capacity was above 12,500MW since 2015.

There’s a FEC report on this.

Whatever you say, the press will rush to affirm you.

Everyone believes you.

If civil society tries to correct, they rush you as partisan.

I really wish this time will pass.

However, this is not 2015.

My mind is at peace.

No campaigning.

No pressure. No picking fights on behalf of any candidate.

The earlier one understands that politics is a game and y’all aren’t even on field, the better for your BP.

Kindly take it easy.

Vote candidate of your choice.

Hold them to account.

Me? I am watching Chelsea, NetFlix (The Crown and Greenleaf), reviewing BudgIT next three-year plan, writing my book, took a break from Twitter and its toxicity, paying attention to my daughters and also learning Python.

Can one be more busy than that?

When the winners are announced, we will know how to proceed.

The case of Nigeria is that as the people lay their bed, so they sleep on it.

We can only help dryclean the covers so that they snore better.
