The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has reacted to the decision by the Federal Government to stop mining in Zamfara State.
The state recently has been experiencing bandits attacks and kidnapping which is a call of concern.
The acting Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammaed on Sunday announced the suspension of mining in the state.
FG also called on foreigners mining in the state to vacate the area within 48 hours as an effort towards stopping banditry in the state.
Shehu Sani in his reaction took to his Twitter account to react to the new development.
He stated that the suspension of mining in the state will not solve the banditry attack in the state.
“Suspension of mining activities is a good step in ending illegal mining; but a non starter in ending banditry.”
“The nation is at war; the moral, historical and constitutional calling at times like this is for the leadership to frontally rise to the occasion in defence of this republic.”
