The governorship candidate of the peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, On Tuesday won at the state High Court after the court passed a judgement validating the primaries where he emerged as the candidate of the party.
The lawsuit was filed by Senator Ayo Adeseun, who challenged the validity of the party’s primaries which took place on September 30.
The primaries produced the Oyo state Governor elect, Makinde and other candidates.
The who judge presided over the case, Justice Ganiyu Sunmonu, on Tuesday struck out the case stating that the party’s primary was in order.
Makinde while reacting to the judgement stated that it was hallmark of democracy and stated that judgment proved that the majority opinion was superior.
The Governor elect in a statement released by his spokesman, Dotun Oyelade lauded the court for its judgement.
He appealed to the people of the state to forge ahead in spite of the distractions caused by the suit.
