Journalism is rooted in service to humanity – Don

An ace journalist and the Director of University of Ilorin Press, Liad Tella has said journalism profession is rooted in service to humanity.

The don made this known during a day symposium tagged “MASS COMMUNICATION PRACTICE” Prospects and Challenges at the the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences lecture theatre, University of Ilorin.

Mr Tella while giving his remark looked at the rudiment of journalism and also advised the audience on how to become good journalists.

“Journalism is rooted in service to humanity”, he said.

Oba Abdulkadir Laaro, also spoke on the career prospects in Mass Communication: Print Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relation Practitioner, Advertising Journalism.

He advised the Journalists on the things needed to survive in the new media world such as having a good gadget and usage skill, critical behavior to survive in the media world, good communication skills and ethics.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Majeed spoke on the challenges of Mass Communication.

The symposium was organized by Nwogwugwu Goodness.
