The minister of aviation under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted on the plan to arrest the leader of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, for not recognizing President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the presidential election.
Recall that the leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group had stated that he will not recognize President Buhari as the winner of the election until the Supreme Court gives a final verdict.
Adebanjo during an interview stated that he can not recognize Buhari as the winner of the election, he also described the election as a joke.
In respect to his decision, the National Democratic Front, has called for his arrest and arraignment.
The group stated that his statement amounts to treason and it is capable of stirring civil war in the country.
Fani-Kayode who took to his twitter account wrote; “The threat to arrest 90 year-old Baba Ayo Adebanjo simply because he said that he refuses to recognise @MBuhari’s mandate unless he wins at the Supreme Court is nonsensical and childish.”
“I dare them to go ahead. I doubt that Baba will loose any sleep over such an absurd threat.”
