Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged by UEFA after celebrating his side’s victory in the Champions League.
The Italian side lost in their first leg of the round of sixteen and while the Atletico boss, Diego Simeone was celebrating one of the goals he grabbed his crotch to celebrate.
However, he was not ban for his gesture but was fined €20,000 by European football’s governing body.
Former Real Madrid player, Ronaldo had scored a hat trick in the second leg to give his side a 3-0 victory and a place in the quarterfinals.
During his celebrating he imitated Simeone’s celebrate after scoring his third goal in the match.
“Following a disciplinary investigation conducted by a UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector, in accordance with the Article 55 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR), disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League round of 16 matches between Juventus Football Club and Club Atletico de Madrid, played on 12 March in Italy.”
“Charges against Juventus Football Club: Improper conduct of player Cristiano Ronaldo – Art. 11 (2) (b) and Art. 11 (2) (d) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.”
“The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deal with this case at its next meeting on 21 March 2019,” a statement from UEFA read on Monday.”
