Controversy as INEC ad-hoc staff claim result were transmitted to central server

While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) claimed not to have server for for the 2019 presidential election, some of its staff insisted that results were electronically to a ‘central server’ through smart card readers.

According to PREMIUM TIMES report, about twenty officials in different states claimed that INEC told them there is “central server in Abuja” where results are collated electronically.

INEC also made mention of server in its 2018 and 2019 manuals issued to the electoral officials.

“After successfully filling the EC8A result sheet and announcing the result, the presiding officer shall tap the e-collation application on the home screen”, a part of the book read.
