CAF to decide new AFCON hosts on January 9

The Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) official board of trustees will hold a remarkable meeting on 9 January to pick fresh hosts for the Nations Cup in 2019.

The continental body is in look for another ground for the competition after it removed Cameroon of the facilitating rights because of an absence of advancement with arrangements.

Nations have until 2200GMT on 14 December to present executive offers to have the 24-team competition which starts in June 2019.

In spite of reports of enthusiasm from Morocco & Congo-Brazzaville nobody has made an official announcement of enthusiasm to have the occasion.

The South Africa Football Association (Safa) is arranging a gathering with the nation’s sports minister Tokozile Xasa today so as to settle on a choice on making an offer to CAF.

Xasa has communicated an enthusiasm for South Africa facilitating the occasion for the 3rd time yet conceded she required more analysis from SAFA before concluding the proposal.
