Bauchi State Government Speaks On Retrenching Workers

Ahead of Saturday’s governorship and state house of assembly election, the Bauchi State Government has revealed that it has no plan to retrench any worker.

The Government claimed that those spreading the news are trying to discredit the administration ahead of March 9th election.

The claim was revealed when the acting Head of Civil Service, Adamu Gokaru was addressing newsmen.

According to him, Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar’s administration was focused on “efforts to implement positive policies and programmes to enhance the living standard of workers and the people of the state”.

He pointed to when the economy was under a recession that the state government did not terminate any appointment.

In a relating development, former Minister for Communication, Muhammadu Bello Kurfi, has led 33 political parties in the state who have declared their support for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bala Muhammad.

They met on Tuesday at the River Edge Hotel.

“The decision was part of the continuation of the struggle to defeat the Governor and to support one single candidate who has the courage and wherewithal to defeat him”.

He called on the people of the state and stakeholders to support Mohammed.

Reacting, Abubakar Sufyanu Al-Sadiqque, Press Secretary to the Governor said: “we are not afraid of the coalition’s threat”.

He assured that nothing will stop Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from winning Saturday’s gubernatorial poll.
