Arsenal forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has revealed his decision to wear the Black Panther mask to celebrate his goal against Rennes.
He stated that the celebration was a nod towards his national team and his identity.
The Gunners defeated Rennes in their Europa League campaign yesterday with a 3-0 win at Emirates to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.
Aubameyang scored twice during the win and treated fans to a new masked celebration for his second goal.
Aubameyang while speaking with BT Sport said, “I needed a mask which could represent me. It’s a Black Panther. In Gabon, the national team are the Panthers. It represents me,”
Black Panther made over $1billion worldwide last year and was 2018’s standout superhero movie.
