The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has commiserated with the people of Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, following the death of Emir Ibrahim Chatta Umar.
According to reports, Umar died in Abuja on Tuesday night after a brief illness.
The report of the emir’s death was contained in a message by Muritala Raheem, Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin who chairs the state’s Council of Emirs and Obas.
Atiku while reacting to his death prayed that God grants the people of the state and local government the fortitude to bear the loss.
In a tweet Atiku wrote: “My condolences to the people of Patigi Emirate and the entire Kwara State Traditional Council.”
“My prayer is that Allah SWT eases the burden of loss on the bereaved family and grant the late Emir Ibrahim Umar into Aljannah Firdaus.”
