Adamawa Governorship Election: INEC Declares Umaru Fintiri As The Winner

The supplementary election in Adamawa state was conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission after been given a go ahead by the court.


The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umaru Fintiri, has been declared the winner of the governorship election by INEC.

This came after the collation of results from the rerun election which took place in 44 polling units across 14 local government area of the state.

Fintiri scored 376,552 votes from the elections to beat his closest rival, Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress who scored 336,386 votes.

Sen Abdulaziz Nyako of the African Democratic Congress came third with 113,237 and was followed by the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Emmanuel Bello, who scored 29,792 votes.
